2023's Psyaccreation Winner

  • The Objective:
  • Explored whether "loneliness" acts as the underlying mediator explaining how adult attachment styles (anxiety and avoidance) impact psychological well-being.
  • The Methodology:
  • Conducted a Mediation Analysis using JASP. Deployed Full Information Maximum Likelihood (FIML) to handle missing data and a Bias-Corrected Percentile Bootstrap (5000 replications) to correct for violated normality assumptions.
  • The Key Insight:
  • The model proved that loneliness significantly mediates the relationship between anxiety attachment and decreased well-being. Interestingly, it failed to mediate the impact of avoidance attachment.
